Groups on the Group Plus and Group Max plans can collect recurring membership dues from their members through ChamberForge, monthly or annually. Payments are processed by Stripe. ChamberForge keeps a small application fee from each payment.
This page is about dues your members pay to your group. For the plan your group pays to ChamberForge, see Plans and Billing.
In Group Settings > Subscription, click Add or Update Plan and enter:
Keep the number of plans small so members are not confused. Most groups offer a monthly plan and an annual plan with a discount.
{warning} After a plan is created, only its name can be changed. To change the price, create a new plan and ask members to switch to it. A plan that has active subscribers cannot be deleted.
If you see "Please add a Payout Method", finish connecting Stripe first.
Members open their group and click Membership in the group menu. They pick a plan, click Subscription, optionally enter a coupon, and click Subscribe to pay by card. Members receive an e-mail receipt each time a payment is processed.
Dues are paid to the Stripe account the group's owner connected, minus the application fee. If the owner has not finished connecting Stripe, the payment is refused with "Could not complete the transaction. The organizer has not completed the setup." and the member is not charged.
If your group collects dues, people who apply to join choose a plan and enter a card on the application form. The card is not charged unless you approve the application. The dues subscription starts when you approve. See Group Applications.
Group Settings > Subscription lists Paying Subscribers: who is paying, on which plan, and since when.
When a member leaves or is removed from the group, their dues subscription is cancelled.
Group managers receive e-mails for new subscribers, plan changes, cancellations and resumptions. They are on by default and can be turned off under Notification Settings.
The Billing History on the same Group Settings > Subscription tab lists each dues payment with the member, plan, amount and status. Group managers can click Refund on a payment.
{warning} A refund returns the full payment and cancels the member's subscription. It cannot be undone.
The member receives an e-mail that their membership payment was refunded.
