My Network in the left menu lists the people you are connected to, with their name, e-mail and industry. A number next to My Network means someone is waiting for you to accept a request.
Your connections are the people you can send referrals to directly. You can remove a connection from the list.
Most connections are made for you:
Open the Quick menu (the grid icon in the top header) and choose Invite to ChamberForge. Enter one or more e-mail addresses and, optionally, a group.
To invite someone into a group, use the group's Members page instead. See Members.
The Pending requests page collects everything waiting for your answer in one place:
Click Accept or Reject on each request. If you reject a connection request, the person can send you a new one later. If you reject a group invitation, you do not join the group.
You can reach this page from the notification about the request, the invitation e-mail, the number next to My Network, or My Account > Groups > Manage access. When nothing is waiting you see "Nothing is waiting for your answer."
Contacts in the left menu is your private list of people, like a simple address book. Only you can see it. Use Add New to add a contact, the search box to find one, and With Selected > Delete to delete several at once.
People who send you a referral through your public profile are added to your contacts automatically.
You can export your contacts from My Account > My Data.
You can send private messages to your connections. Open Messages from the envelope in the top header.
You receive an e-mail for a new message. To avoid flooding your inbox, you get at most one e-mail per conversation every 24 hours. You can turn message e-mails off under Notification Settings.
Type in the search field in the top header and press Enter to search your own referrals (by lead, company and other details) and your contacts. Your recent searches drop down under the field when you click in it. You can also jump to the field with Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac).
