Organizer's Guide

This guide walks you through getting your group up and running on ChamberForge. The steps are:

1. Create your account

Register for a free account and complete your profile. See Sign-in and Security and My Account.

If you run a chamber of commerce or an association with several chapters, create an organization first and create your groups inside it.

2. Create a group

Open the Quick menu (the grid icon in the top header) and choose Create Group. Enter the group name, a description and where you meet. You can already pick people from your connections to invite. See Create a Group.

3. Set up the group

Open your group and click Settings:

  • Choose Public or Private visibility.
  • Under Members, generate a join code if you want people to join with a code.
  • Add custom fields if you want extra information on referrals and guests (Group Plus and Group Max).

See Group Settings.

On the group's Dashboard, click Edit dashboard to choose the widgets your members see. See Customize the Dashboard.

4. Invite members

Click Members, then Add New. Pick people you already know in ChamberForge or paste a list of e-mail addresses, choose a role for each person, and click Send Invites. Give your leaders the Organizer role and your helpers the Manager role. See Members.

Invited members join when they accept the invitation. The free plan allows up to 15 members.

5. Set up meetings

Click Meetings, then Add New to create a meeting. You can also set up Recurring Meeting Setup in Group Settings so upcoming meetings are created automatically and members get reminder e-mails. Recurring meetings and reminders need a paid plan. See Meetings.

6. Record attendance after each meeting

Open the meeting and choose Menu > Manage member attendance. Tick Attended, Substitute, Excused or Late for each member. See Update Attendance.

7. Add guests

Record visitors with Add Guest in the Quick menu (the grid icon in the top header), and their visits with Add Guest Attendance in the same menu, choosing which member invited them. See Guests.

8. Record referrals and 1-to-1s

Encourage members to send referrals and record 1-to-1s themselves, with the send button and the Quick menu in the top header. When members report activity at a meeting instead, managers can record it for them:

  • Record referral between two members on the group's Referrals page. See Referrals.
  • Record 1-to-1 with the member chosen as the User. See 1-to-1s.

9. Run reports

Click Reports in the group menu to see who is contributing, how referrals convert and who needs encouragement. See Reporting.

10. Choose a plan

Reports, recurring meetings and reminders, more members, and membership dues come with paid plans. See Plans and Billing.
