Coffee

What Is a Coffee

A coffee is a small cash thank-you you send to a connection, for example when their referral turned into business. Each cup is $5. The recipient claims it and the money goes to their bank account.

Coffee in your left menu (the cup icon next to your name) opens your coffees, with Received and Sent tabs.

Buy a Coffee

You can buy a coffee from:

  • A member's profile page, with Buy Coffee
  • A referral you received that is Won, with Menu > Buy Coffee. You may also see a banner asking if you would like to thank the sender with a coffee.
  • The Say thanks suggestion on your Feed
  • The Send Coffee button on the Coffee page

Choose Who is it for? (one of your connections), the number of cups (1, 3, 5 or a custom number up to 100), and an Optional message. You pay by card. Coffees appear in your Billing History with a downloadable invoice.

Claim a Coffee

When someone sends you a coffee, you get an e-mail and a "You have unclaimed coffee" badge in your left menu.

  1. Open Coffee and the Received tab.
  2. Click Claim.
  3. The first time, you are asked to connect a Stripe account (Connect Stripe) so the money can be paid out to your bank.

After you claim, you see "Your coffee is on its way to your bank account." ChamberForge keeps 10% of each coffee.

Coffee Reminders

  • If you have an unclaimed coffee, you receive reminder e-mails after 7, 30 and 57 days, and a You Have Unclaimed Coffee! pop-up with Claim My Coffee and Remind me later.
  • When a referral you received turns into business, you may see a suggestion to thank the sender with a coffee for 90 days. Click Not now to hide it once, or Turn off these reminders to stop them. You can turn them back on under My Account > Notifications > Coffee reminders.

Unclaimed Coffee Refunds

A coffee that is not claimed within 60 days is refunded automatically to the sender, minus the card processing fee. The sender receives an e-mail when this happens.

{info} In some countries ChamberForge is registered as a non-profit organization and does not sell purchases, so coffees cannot be bought there. If you see "Purchases are not available in your region.", you can still claim coffees you received.
